Every now and then, we make it a point of duty to speak to people who use our products — consumers, businesses and developers. We think that we’re a customer driven company and we always want to know how people use our product, and what they think we can do better and more. This month, we are talking to Adeleke Laketu who is a co-founder and CEO at Leanstack

Hi Leke! Thanks for doing this. What do people need to know about you and your business?

My name is Laketu Adeleke, co-founder of Leanstack Systems. Leanstack is a hosting company in Lagos that offers domain registration, web hosting and cloud services to customers. Think of us as a hosting company that just believes in making our customers happy and putting them first.

Ah, interesting. What do you do when you’re not running things at Leanstack?

I’ll say watching movies, reading books, comics, and manga. I also love cooking and I’m also into a bit of photography.

What’s the last thing you cooked and liked?

I’ll say seafood fried rice.

Must be nice. So talk to us, how did you find out about Wallets?

Funny story, I worked on the early version of the product so you could say I was invested in the product. I have been a wallets user from day one.

Here’s to real ones! 🥂 And now that you run Leanstack, why do you still use the product? Outside the obvious fact that you worked on it?

It’s really simple and easy to use and it provides me and my business with all the financial features I need.

If you needed any more explanation as to what Wallets for Business is, here’s a little help :)

Love to see it. What is your favourite feature on the app?

Transfers. That’s basically the feature I use the most at the moment. At Leanstack, we make a lot of payments to our vendors so I make use of that. I also use it to disburse petty cash for staff expenses. I also use the consumer product, so I pay a lot of bills with the app. That’s probably the next favourite feature for me.

Any new features that you would you like to see on the app?

An accounting feature that allows me to track inflows and outflows from the account and also be able to reconcile my account at the end of the month. A wave integration would also be great, I can push my account transactions to wave for reconciliation.

(Editors note: But you know we have that. When you log in to your web dashboard, you can see your outflow and inflow for the month)

Nice nice! We’re working on more integrations so stay tuned. Anyway, how are you handling finances especially in these times we’re in?

On a personal level, I’m watching my spending and trying not to spend money on things that aren’t necessary. With Leanstack, we’re exploring ways to reduce our operational costs. I’ll advice business owners to try to explore alternatives to do this but not at the expense of the quality of service.

What financial lesson do you recommend to Wallets Africa users?

Don’t spend all you earn, have a savings somewhere. It will come in handy when you least expect.

If you had a million naira in your Wallets account and you had to finish it in 48 hours, what are you spending it on?

Just throw me into a gadget store and the rest is history. I love gadgets.

Thank you so much to Leke for telling us about how his company uses our business product. Check out the Leanstack website if you are a developer or a small business looking for good hosting that won’t stress you.
